A Year in Review!
Greetings and Happy Holidays to you all! The Quest Project® is a labor of love, this year was filled with accomplishments and growth. With your continued dedication and support, together we will help our boys grow into healthy, happy young men.
A Year in Review
The year started with the publication of “Generation of Men-How to raise your son to be a healthy man among men.” It’s a fathers guide to raising sons and the important role he plays in his son’s life. To date over 500 books are in the hands of dads that need help and continues to be very popular.
I was invited to become a steering committee member for The Coalition to Create a White House Council for Boys and Men. We meet bi-weekly to discuss a myriad of issues facing boys and men.
In June the office transformed to a movie set when Peter McGennis and his film crew traveled here from New York to feature The Quest Project in his upcoming documentary “Within Reach.” We started the day off being interviewed by Channel 2 on the morning show, filmed all day and into the evening. It was an adventure and experience I’ll never forget!
It was a big year for Charity Patch; we had all three local news stations drop by to cover the great work we do there. We delivered over 1000 lbs. of fresh produce to the local food pantry! A group of Quest Project graduates (this year we had 8) participate in the work; they learn empathy and the importance of helping others! I was also surprised to receive the “Pay it Forward” award for my efforts in the garden.
The Blues won the Stanley Cup this year, they were featured on the July cover of St. Louis Magazine, if you look inside you’ll find a wonderful article written by Jeanette Cooperman on The Quest Project!
I was asked to do several interviews with some of St. Louis’s finest journalists:
I did a marathon of blogs for the American Counseling Association (ACA), twelve blogs in twelve weeks which you can read here!
Most Importantly
Fifty-two boys have graduated The Quest Project this year, which means there are an additional 52 healthy young men to be celebrated! These young men worked hard and overcame obstacles too numerous to mention. I’m proud of each and every one.
Needless to say, it was a very busy year; and we’re just getting started! Plans for next year are shaping up nicely and are on track to be even more exciting! Are you curious? Stay tuned and I’ll give you a sneak peek very soon!
