A Time to Give Thanks
It’s that time of year! Here are some things I’m very thankful for.
A Time To Give Thanks
First and foremost I am thankful for my family and friends and all the blessings they bring to my life. I have a thriving private practice that allows me to live my mission every day.
It’s Finally Here
I’m very excited to announce that my book Saving Our Sons: A Parent’s Guide To Preparing Boys For Success is on track for a January 2016 launch! The cover image is shown here. The young man featured here is a Quest Project® graduate; recently he wrote an essay on his hero and I’m proud to say that he feels that I am his hero.
The Journey
I started the book journey exactly three years ago. I thought I’d share some of that story as it is “one of the things I’m thankful for” this year.
Three years ago I was approached by another counselor who thought my story that led to my work needed to be told. This started the process. We began to collaborate. After many twists and turns, it was apparent the book needed to be an action driven book focused on helping parents, especially single parent Moms, deal with their sons.
This process is not an easy one, but it is one to be thankful for!
The book is about “tried and true” processes combined with research. It’s also my story; the abuse from my dad I saw, endured and healed, to the work I do today helping other young men do the same. It gives insight to parents how they can deal with their son’s issues. It has case studies of several families and how The Quest Project® helped them. I couldn’t be more excited about the publication and release. My ultimate goal is that Saving Our Sons will provide hope and guidance to so many families that are hurting.
